You guys. I’m so excited about this fun, light-hearted little romp of a novel. Dawn, Brett, Gabe and Liam popped into my head a few months ago while I was outlining another book, and they refused to leave me alone until I wrote their story.
Triple Cross My Heart is my first foray into the world of romantic comedy. These guys came to play. They are silly, and sometimes over-the-top. I hope you’ll love them as much as I do.
When we meet our protagonist, Dawn, she has given up on love. Officially. After a nasty marriage and nastier separation, she’s decided that men just aren’t worth the trouble. Riley, her opinionated best friend (who damn near took over this book, so keep your eyes peeled for a sequel), tries to convince her that there’s real love out there waiting for her. But she just doesn’t believe it.
Enter her new neighbors, a trio of twenty-something motocross racers who are immediately obsessed with her.
I get where they’re coming from. I, too, was enamored of Dawn. She’s sweet and sexy, creative in and out of the bedroom, and she’s representing for not just the plus-sized chicks but also for middle-aged women, a character demographic I’ve always felt were sorely lacking from the romance genre.
Despite her opinion at the start of the book that love is little more than a fairytale, Dawn has a lot of love to give. And I had a lot of fun throwing these four together.
